"Our family had a blast snorkeling around shell Island and Egmont Key. Kent was very knowledgeable and so great with all the kids! Took us to all the great spots! Family can’t wait to go again! Highly recommended for all your snorkeling/SCUBA and fishing trips." Sharon Ashby Chistiansen

" Diver Kent is amazing! We had the most amazing day with him and Eric doing a dive near Egmont Key and Shell Island. My husband and son were recently PADI certified and were looking for a dive master to accompany us during our trip since this was my son’s first ocean dive. We were beyond thankful to find this duo online and call them. Safely and being detail oriented  was a top priority and they knew the area so well. They were so incredibly kind and were so patient with the kids. I cannot more highly recommend St. Pete Scuba and Diver Kent. We had the most amazing day with them! "

Bill Stephenson

" I really enjoyed my time achieving my Open Water Certifications at St.Pete. By the end of course, St. Pete made me feel very comfortable and safe going into the water. "

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does certification take?

You can actually complete your dive time certification in as little as four days. The Open Water Diver course is flexible and based on your performance, meaning that we will help you learn at a speed that is right for you. We’re not interested in having you spend a lot of time in the classroom; we want you to learn how to scuba dive!

Is there an age limit for scuba diving?

The minimum age requirement for most training agencies is 10.

What gear do I need in order to dive?

When you start, you’ll need your own mask, fins, boots, gloves, and snorkel — and we can help find the right ones for you! While we do offer rental equipment for your training time, we recommend that you invest in the right gear. After all, you’ll be more comfortable learning to dive in gear you’ve chosen and find it more convenient overall.

Are there any health conditions that might prevent me from diving?

Almost anyone who is in good health and reasonably fit can participate in scuba. However, there are some conditions that may prevent you from diving. These conditions are listed on the RSTC Medical Form found when signing up.Review this form prior to registering for class.

Does your scuba diving certification expire?

No. Most recreational scuba certifications do not expire. However, it is important to keep up to date with your knowledge and skills to ensure a fun and safe dive. Many operators will ask to see a log of your latest dive, and if you have not been in the water recently, you will have the chance to complete a skills check or refresher course.
